Christian Counselling is based on a Christ centred view of a person which tells us that we are created in God’s image as physical, emotional, thinking, choosing and spiritual beings. We explore all these areas of a person’s life and works towards helping them to reach their God-given potential.
However, we do see people from any faith and non-faith background. Prayer is available if the person requests it.
Turning Point is part of East Taieri Church which has been a positive contributor to the community for over 150 years.
Turning Point was established in 2005 to offer professional, affordable Christian counselling to people in the greater Taieri and surrounding area. We try to keep our costs as low as possible and this is made possible with funding from various organisations.

Your choice: You can choose which counsellor you would like to work with and phone them for an appointment. Please leave a message if no-one takes your call and they will get back to you.
Your time: Each counsellor is available at different times throughout the week and some evening appointments are available. We meet with people at a room in East Taieri Church, some counsellors also offer appointments in Fairfield or Dunedin. We are grateful for the use of a counselling room in Dunedin. This incurs a charge which will be added to your fee - please check with your counsellor at appointment time.
If you are late: If you are late for an appointment your time with the counsellor may be shorter so please arrive on time. If you are unable to keep your appointment please phone the counsellor as soon as you can, preferably the day before. If you do not cancel your appointment we may have to charge you as this takes up time that someone else could use.
Length of each session: Sessions last up to 50-55 minutes

Payment is required at each session. We can also invoice you so you can make a direct credit transfer. We also accept cheques and cash but no EFPTOS.
